This hungry koi fish swam up to me at the Chinese garden at the Huntington Library in Pasadena, California. It must have thought it was feeding time because this fish came ready to eat. Koi fish have always fascinated me. Their delicate beauty as they glide through the water seems almost angelic at times. They are a regal looking fish and watching them swim can help calm nerves and evoke a sense of nostalgia. They can be mesmorizing. In the processing of this image I added some extra artisitc layers of color blends and some stippling, to make the image appear more like a painting. I also added a layer of an image of a stone walkway to intensify the rippled look in the water and to act as the base of the pond.
