I love this image of my daughter carefully inspecting a wild flower before smelling. It was taken in the yard of a fellow artist who invited my family over to see the wonderous product that a recent rain had left in her backyard. My daughter may have been even more enthralled than I was at the beauty of the fresh, vibrant blooms. Her curiosity caught my attention and all of a sudden I realized that instead of photographing the flowers (as I had come to do) I was photographing my own child. Of course, she is more beautiful than any flower to me, but she also lives with me and tall, green plants (other than cacti) are something that we don't get to see all that often in Arizona. Whenever I show my artwork at any event, I have to bring this image, so that my little girl can show everyone which of my pieces is, "The best". She loves to show it off.
