Flirting Trees

Flirting Trees

I am posting this image on Valentine's Day because to me, these trees seem to be in love. They stand alone on a sandy beach, overlooking Lake Michigan in Evanston, Chicago. Even though they are spaced far enough apart to be able to grow strong as individuals, they still seem to be intimately involved with each other as they gently caress the other's leaves and branches. They appear as if they are holding hands. This is how I picture my husband and myself as we grow older and the kids have moved away. Although I know I will miss the kids greatly, I look forward to the years ahead with the love of my life as we enjoy some peaceful moments, enjoying God's creation. ……………………………………………………………..There actually used to be three trees in this location, but one was apparantly struck by lightening. There now seem to be some new trees that have been planted in the area and are guarded by wire supports. I have removed them from the image to add to the look of intimacy.
