Kim's Tree

This is my husband's favorite tree. It is at the Huntington Library in Pasadena, Ca. We used to chaperone high school field trips there. When we were first married Kim told me all about this wonderful tree. I knew right then that I would make every effort to get a special picture of it for him if I was ever to see it. My opportunity came when I helped chaperone my first Art History field trip to the Huntington. The tree was just as grandiose as he had described. I tried to slyly take pictures of it from every angle. This was my favorite because of the bench that sits under it just waiting for someone to come rest in the shade and security of the old tree. This image was taken on black and white infrared film. It's that film that gives it the deep film grain texture and the almost glowing white wherever there is greenery. I have colored the image using Photoshop.
