Honeymoon Bay

I took this picture on our honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This bay can be seen from an overlook in Mismaloya. We had been driving on Cihuatlán, but pulled off when we saw the sign for the site where, "Night of the Iguana" was filmed. Neither of us had seen the movie, but we stopped in to check it out and this is what we saw. It was a tremendous view. Looking on Google maps today, it seems that where this image was taken is now private property and blocked off to the public. I'm am grateful that it was open when we visited. The hotel you see across the bay is La Jolla de Mismaloya. The drive was beautiful and a great memory from our first solo vacation. We rented a ragtop, convertible, VW bug and enjoyed the scenery, as well as the feel of the warm sun. My husband loves convertibles because they allow him more freedom and he feels more connected to the landscape. I like them because they are easier to take pictures from. Not that I took this image from the car, it was a little hike to the cliff's overlook.
The original was photographed with black and white infrared film. I scanned it into the computer and colored it in Photoshop.
