Four Black-Necked Stilt birds interact in what appears as a dance, while a fifth one sits out on the sidelines. Most birds are in the water and one is coming in for a landing.

I took this picture while on a date night with my husband. The plan was to casually explore the Riparian Preserve while taking pictures and then head out to dinner. We had been at the preserve for about fifteen minutes before we got a phone call from our new babysitter, saying that our oldest daughter was sick and could we please come home. At least we got fifteen minutes.
