Reflections Of FallWhat a beautiful place to take a late afternoon stroll. This deserted street looks so inviting and intimate. The ripples in the round-a-bout create a fountain effect where you could toss a penny in and make a wish. The warm glow from the street lights seems to beckon you down the street, perhaps to visit with some of the neighbors. I took this picture of Lunt Ave. in Evanston, Chicago on a cold November afternoon. It had just started to snow, and since our backs were to the beach of Lake Michigan, there was a stiff, cold wind. We were out on a walk and as my sister's Chicago resident children were running, laughing, kicking leaves and having a great time. My own Arizona child was cold, miserable and complaining. She had prayed and prayed for snow and now that it was snowing, she was just too cold to enjoy her answered prayer. She also had some sand in her eye from falling into a sand dune a few minutes earlier. She was a mess, but the scenery was not. It was gorgeous. It didn't actually look like this, but it did in my imagination. In reality, this street was lined with cars on both sides, there were signs blocking the view and the background on the left, left a lot to be desired. Good thing there is Photoshop, to rescue us from reality and allow us to create what our mind sees. There were no ripples in the street in reality, just a foam covered puddle toward the center, but I like it better this way. I hope you do too.
