These Three Trees

These Three Trees

Okay, so I know that there are more than three trees here, but until I was almost finished processing it, I somehow, only saw three. As I was working on it, the lyrics, "These Three Trees of Chicagoland are…" to the tune of, "We Three Kings of Orient Are", kept running through my head so I just stuck with it. I came across this grouping of trees while on a walk in Evanston, Chicago. They stand barren as if congregating to discuss the impending weather in which they will most certainly be covered again, not with leaves this time, but with snow. Maybe the weather doesn't concern them at all and they are trying to solve a larger problem, or maybe they are just standing around chatting, shooting the breeze as their branches sway in it. Whatever it is they are doing, they are doing it together, as a group. None of them stand alone, they are a group standing in a circle. Facing each other and the world all at the same time.
